ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND GETAWAY

May 08, 2019

Today I'm recapping our mini weekend getaway! George and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary a week earlier. Our actual anniversary is on May 11th, but it tends to land on Mother's Day weekend. Therefore, we celebrate earlier so we can do both. This year it will be our 6th wedding anniversary! I cannot believe it, time has really flown by. We have been together for a total of 10 years! (if you want more details on our love story, you can find our complete love story under the "lifestyle" tab in the main menu).

This weekend was perfection! George planned the sweetest and most thoughtful getaway. He is very romantic and thinks of every detail when planning something. I am a very lucky girl! He booked a 2 night stay at the same hotel he proposed to me in, called the Provident Doral at the Blue. Just a quick getaway so we can spend intentional time with one another and focus on our marriage. I love how thoughtful he is and how he planned activities for us to do.

FRIDAY
The first thing we did before arriving at the hotel was have lunch at one of our favorite fast food joints, Chick Fil A! It was so yummy, George had a chicken sandwich and I had the little nuggets. We are absolutely obsessed with the waffles fries and I have to get the diet lemonade. Oh and I can't forget about the Chick Fil A sauce...so delicious! After lunch we headed to the hotel and unpacked. I absolutely loved our suite, it was so pretty! It bought back so many memories for us. That night we had dinner at Cooper's Hawk in City Place Doral. We had never been, so we were very excited to try the food...and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Afterwards, we walked around City Place for a bit.

SATURDAY
On Saturday we were able to sleep in, and George went out to get us breakfast at one of our favorite spots, Einstein Bagels! After breakfast we headed to the pool and the day was beautiful, we were able to have some drinks and lounge. After the pool, we freshened up and went to our couples massage. You guys it was awesome and very much needed. George and I were in heaven for 80 minutes lol. I have to admit that although we were having fun, we missed our princess so much! Even though she was having a blast with her cousins. Once you are a parent your life is not the same, that is why dedicating time to your marriage is important. As hard as it was for me to leave her I know that we needed a little break. For dinner George made reservations at Ruth Chris steak house in Coral Gables. The food was SO good and top notch of course!

Overall, this weekend was unforgettable and so memorable! We really enjoyed our time together to catch up and just be intentional with one another. I feel very lucky to have my husband by my side and so grateful for how amazing he is. Happy Anniversary my love and cheers to many more! Love you, always and forever!
