HOW TO CLEAN YOUR WEDDING RINGS

August 01, 2016

I decided to write this post because I feel it can be very helpful and informative. I remember when George and I first got engaged, I could not stop staring at my ring! Well, to be honest its been 5 years and I still can't stop staring at it. It's a daily reminder of our love for each other! I also remember not wanting it to get dirty and wanting it to be constantly shiny and sparkly! I mean what girl doesn't, right?

So, I would normally use a jewelry cleaning liquid (any works fine). Which I still do if I'm in a rush or want a quick touch up. However, I knew there had to be another way to give my jewelry a deeper clean. I had seen many ideas on Pinterest, but they all required vinegar and I hate that smell. I just kept using my liquid cleaner or would have it cleaned at the jewelers. Until, one day my amazing friend Alix gave me her tips on how to clean my ring. The best part is that you most likely already have all these things in your kitchen.

What you need:
Glass cup
Water
Spoon
Dawn dish soap
Toothbrush
Paper towel
1. Fill your glass cup half way with filtered water
2. Pour 1-2 drops of Dawn dish soap
3. Microwave for 1 minute (keep an eye on it, it can bubble up)
4. Place ring(s) into the water and let it soak for like 5-10 minutes
5. Use spoon to remove the rings from bottom of the cup
6. One by one, run under water and brush gently with a soft toothbrush. This helps take off any dirt that the soap loosened.
7. Place them on towel and allow to air dry.
Doesn't it look brand new? Ah! I love when it's all shiny and sparkly! I try to clean my ring every 2-3 weeks, just to keep it looking pretty. If you give this a try let me know!
