HOW I BLOW DRY MY HAIR

August 26, 2016

Hi guys! Today I want to share with you, how I blow dry my CURLY hair! I have a lot of hair so growing up it was a real struggle. It was curly, puffy and the lovely Miami humidity does not help lol. With years of dealing with my hair, I've been able to tame the beast perfectly! There were times I would say "I wish I had straight hair!!" but, I never really meant it! I mean, I have the best of both worlds. I can go curly one day and straight another, it's the perfect hair type to have in my opinion ;). Keep in mind that this is how I blow dry my hair and by no means am I a professional. This is just the easiest and fastest way for me to get it done. It usually takes me about 35-40 minutes to blow dry and Iron my hair. My hair lasts about 3 days, if needed I touch up with my favorite dry shampoo Batiste. Alright, lets get started!

I wash my hair! I use this shampoo and conditioner, it's been a favorite for years now. I dry my hair using this towel I purchased in Bed Bath & Beyond. It is so handy to get my hair up and drying while I get dressed.

I spray this amazing leave in conditioner to my ends and top of my head. This helps untangle my hair and makes brushing it out easier!

To brush my hair, I part it in the middle and brush each side separately. I start from the ends and work my way up. It's the easiest and most gentle way!

I ALWAYS use this heat protective spray! It's a must, specially when dealing with hot tools frequently. I spray it all over but focus mainly on my ends, to protect from split ends (which I absolutely hate!).
I do all this in my bathroom but, once I'm done I head to my little piece of heaven. My vanity!! I start by parting my hair in half and tying the right side. (I always start with the left side...not sure why :P).
Then I grab a pretty big piece from the back and pick the rest up. I start from the back and move forward. I have a lot of hair so I use a big round brush to get more hair and finish faster!
I start to blow dry it and when it's dry I focus on the ends to give it shape. I blow dry the ends upward and backward, this helps me give the ends a nice natural "flip".
Since I do have a lot of hair and volume, I HAVE to iron it, or else I will look like I have a huge puff!  So I iron every piece after I blow dry it. However, I will share my trick with you guys...when you iron your hair it makes it flat and some volume goes away. That's what I want but, I still want my ends bouncy and to have that natural flip the blow dryer gives it. When I iron, I DO NOT iron my ends! Try it, it makes a huge difference trust me!
I continue this same pattern through out my whole hair. The last thing I blow dry are my bangs, I always blow dry up and down to help give them volume.

Once I'm all done, I use my favorite hair oil of all time! I put some in the palms of my hand (a little goes a long way) rub them together and focus on only the ends. This helps with any frizz and smells amazing!

Here is the final result!
I hope this helps you girls with curly hair like me! If you have any tips or recommendations, do not hesitate to let me know. I would love to hear from you guys, your feedback is important to me!
