HOW I CURL MY HAIR

June 07, 2019

Hey babes! In today’s post I will be showing you how I curl and style my hair. I naturally have curly hair, but I usually have it blow dried straight. Which I absolutely love because my hair is SUPER soft and long! However, there are times I want to add more volume and texture to my hair. That is when I curl It and give it a loose wave type of look. Easy & effortless is what I like to say!

STEP 1
I like to make sure I have clean or 2nd day hair. I also brush it out and make sure there are no knots.

STEP 2
I separate my hair evenly into two parts. I clip one side, using my favorite hair clips from the Dry Bar.

STEP 3
The part that is loose is the one I start with. I start from the back of my head and start grabbing medium size pieces of hair. I have no precise amount, I just make sure it not too thick or thin. Since I brush my hair out at the end, it will not make a difference.

STEP 4
The curling wand I use is a Conair and is one and a half inches. It is very old and my mother in law gave it to me lol…but it’s been amazing! I wrap my hair mid-way up and start to turn the wand away from my face. This will allow the hair to not be in my face. It will open up my face and is very flattering verses having the hair covering my face.

STEP 5
I have pretty thick hair, so I leave the curling wand for 10-15 seconds max! If you have thin hair, I suggest leaving it on for 5-8 seconds max. Of course, it all depends on the temperature you have it set on etc.

STEP 6
I repeat this same process on both sides and do not touch my curls into I am done.

STEP 7
I then unite both sides and using my fingers gently brush out the curls. This helps them look more natural and gives you that wavy hair look.

STEP 8
Lastly, I apply some of my favorite Ouai hair oil to the ends to add shine. Plus, it smells heavenly and makes my hair soft. I also use the TRESemme Compressed Micromist this stuff is amazing! It leaves my hair soft and helps with any flyaway hair.

Achieving this look is very easy and fast! It takes me about 10 minutes to style my hair. Which is not bad at all for a mom who is always on the go. I hope that this tutorial was helpful and easy for you to follow.
